Let Down

When people have a baby, they commonly say, "I just want my child to be healthy".
It's getting harder and harder for me to talk to fat people and pay attention to what they're saying because I have to block out my constant thought about how and why they got so fat.
Even though you're 30, I bet your parents still want you to be healthy.

DJ Haul in Pittsburgh
Last week the homie DJ Haul (HaulandMason.com) came to represent at our monthly (Quality Control) at Privilege in Pittsburgh. The party was live and Haul's set was fresh as usual. If you haven't heard Haul and Mason, they rock 4 turntables and nobody does it better. This is their mix from 2004 (still dope as 2009) on ALL VINYL -NO SERATO!
Haul & Mason - 4 Turntable Beatdown (Full Album) (Zipped)

And of course, had to hit Primanti's...

I need some Justice justice.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. If I have to read one more rant about how Justice's album "t" changed someone's life, I may take my own. I have heard everything from "Album of the Year" to "Best Artist of 2007". If you're like me, you have a general sentiment that music as a whole has been sliding into the toilet, while popular opinion has become increasingly diluted and ill-informed. Is your musical selection and knowledge so limited that you're ranking Justice so high? Did you only listen to 3 artist's new albums last year? (I'm going to go ahead and call the other two artists "Simian Mobile Disco" and "The White Stripes" because I couldn't get through their albums without feeling urges similar to Jack Torrance in "The Shining".) 6 sold out shows in LA? Are you serious?
The album has 12 songs. I only like 5 of them. Of those 5, 2 are pretty much the same song. Of the other 7, (actually the whole album) most of them sound pretty interchangeable. Way to use the same plugins on every track to give your album that uniform, "there's no denying it's a Justice track" sound. Unfortunately, most other electro artists and hipster "I'm a producer because I have Ableton and a blog" amateurs are using the same one. I'm using the term "artist" real loosely here. By loosely I mean I'm downplaying the inability to play an instrument, understand music theory, have creative song structure or even have a musical career longer than 12 months. Most people should call their work "edits".
I'd also like Amanda Blank and Lady Sov to double-team stomp the shit out of Uffie's off-time, non-rhyming-half-the-time, guys actually aren't fighting over your ass, ass.
The bandwagon has never been so big as it is right now and it's moving slow enough that even the slowest can jump on.

Happy New Years from UNKNOWN NUMBER

I just want to give a big shout out to everyone that I never talk to who text messages me on every holiday. I may not celebrate the holiday. I may not ever talk to you otherwise. I may not even know you because your number isn't showing up as a known contact in my phone. Your text message might even start with "Fwd:". But thank you for texting me. It reaffirms my previous notion that the holidays are bullshit.
The holidays are finally over. Yes.

Yeah - check out kazumi nikaidoh, Zs, ariel ramirez, ariel pink, karl blau, battles, pale hoarse. these are all that jump to mind this instant. maybe you have heard of some of these already.
as far as why we actively hate these people i listed, WE don't. None of my bandmates dislike any of that stuff, I was just mouthing off. As for getting publicity, I guess I didn't realize that anyone but my friends read what I put on our site (we are not really a popular band, I don't think). I only did it because I generally just post whatever comes to mind without giving it a second thought. Those days are over, I guess. Anyhow, thanks for writing.

Oh well. I get no blog drama. Probably better that way.
